DTH Drilling Rig
A Down-the-Hole (DTH) drilling rig is an impact rotary drilling machine designed for efficient rock drilling in hard and complex geological formations. The core technology lies in the DTH hammer, a percussion mechanism that drives a piston inside the hammer body through compressed air, transmitting intensive percussion energy directly to the drill bit at the bottom of the hole to crush the rock.
Unlike conventional rotary drilling methods, DTH drilling positions the impactor directly at the bottom of the borehole, minimizing energy loss during transmission and significantly improving deep-hole drilling efficiency. This makes DTH rigs particularly effective in very hard soils and rock formations where traditional rotary methods may be inefficient or impractical.
